Improving a Process through the Lean Six Sigma Management

Six Sigma originally emerged from the hands of Bill Smith, an engineer working at Motorola. It has a set of techniques for improving the process- improving output quality by removing the cases of defects and thus lessening variability in the functioning of the process. Six Sigma is an integration of several methods of quality management and a special infrastructure with experts in these methods.
Lean management is another such Japanese influenced concept which uses similar methodologies. However, the two are different programs. Lean management eliminates waste using some proven methodologies and tools which target to increase the efficiency of the organization while Six Sigma’s main aim is to eliminate problems and lessen variability.

When Six Sigma and Lean management merged
The two came together to form the Lean Six Sigma which combines the work of the above two that is improving performance by removing waste and also reducing variability. The two came together to benefit each other, developing a balanced organization and also saving money.

Getting Certified on Lean six sigma
Now, different organizations have come up over the years to train professionals focused on Quality Management on the Lean six sigma green belt - one such being the CBISCO. They train participants who have not much knowledge about Lean Six Sigma. The green belt program will help participants gain a thorough understanding of the tools and framework of Lean Six Sigma. The Lean Six Sigma Green Belt program provides knowledge about the processes of improving initiatives, about the tools of Lean six sigma for further enabling employees to strategies’ their work and prove efficient.

Why is the certification important?
The certification is crucial for organizations whose goal is to improve in business and industry processes.
The certification helps in developing data-driven decisions and problem-solving skills. Those who are already certified with the Lean Six Sigma can go ahead to pursue the Black Belt program to further sharpen one’s skills.
