Six Sigma
originally emerged from the hands of Bill Smith, an engineer working at
Motorola. It has a set of techniques for improving the process- improving
output quality by removing the cases of defects and thus lessening variability
in the functioning of the process. Six Sigma is an integration of several
methods of quality management and a special infrastructure with experts in
these methods.

together to form the Lean Six Sigma which combines the work of the above two
